da 888casino: Leeds United are in dire need of a striker, but every passing day their list of targets is dwindling.
da pixbet: Che Adams doesn’t seem to be coming, and they’ve been knocked back in their approach for Andre Gray.
There is still interest in other forwards, including Billy Sharp, but a recent update from Steve Bruce indicates that Leeds should cross Dwight Gayle off their list.
What’s the news?
Gayle limped off in Newcastle’s last game against Wolves, and the extent of his injury was unknown, until now.

Steve Bruce’s press conference addressed the injury, and the 59-year-old confirmed the striker will be out between four and six weeks, and that means that Leeds shouldn’t even toy with the possibility of signing him.
Pointless signing
Leeds have reportedly shown an interest in signing Gayle this month, but his latest fitness update means that it’d be pretty pointless.
Six weeks out at this point would see Gayle back to full fitness in late February, meaning that he’d miss at least eight league games for Leeds, and with just 19 matches left to compete in, he wouldn’t be able to play a big part in United’s promotion push.
Add onto that the fact that Marcelo Bielsa himself has admitted that it can take a while for a striker to adapt to his system, and the thought of signing Gayle sounds even more far-fetched.
It’s bad luck as a man who netted 24 Championship goals last term would usually be an excellent addition to Leeds’ frontline, but they have to pass up on this one. The fact of the matter is that he’s not going to have enough of an impact on the team if he does sign.
This is a move Leeds must completely cross off their list.
In other news, Leeds may be well-prepared for one departure if they can land this signing.
