According to The Yorkshire Evening Post, Forshaw is ahead of schedule in his fight for full fitness.
The experienced midfielder, who was described as a “complete player” by Marcelo Bielsa last month, picked up an injury on the eve of the new season, but expects to be back in training next week ahead of the trip to Millwall.
Fans hoped they had found the solution to their midfield woes when Forshaw made the switch to Elland Road in January, but he has played just 12 Championship games due to injuries.
He will now have his work cut out for him to get back in the team, as both Kalvin Phillips and Mateusz Klich have started the season in phenomenal form, and the 26 year-old has been particularly impressed by Klich.
“It would be very difficult (to get back in). He’s been unbelievable and fair play to him. It’s an example to young players and anybody, really. You get a chance and you take it,” the ex-Boro man said.

Leeds fans were worried about depth when the transfer window closed, so the fact that they now have multiple midfielders fighting for those spots is great news.
