da pinnacle:
da heads bet: Juventus are ready to try and pry Robin van Persie away from Arsenal, and will bid £25 million for the striker once the transfer window reopens, according to Mirror Football.
The Netherlands international has been the north London club’s talisman this term, scoring 27 goals and firing the Gunners into Champions League qualification contention after a shaky start to the campaign.
However, the newly-crowned PFA Player of the Year’s contract at the Emirates Stadium is set to expire in the summer of 2013, with the attacker seemingly reluctant to put pen-to-paper on a new deal.
With Arsenal potentially at risk of losing their captain on a free transfer in 12 months time, Arsene Wenger has a decision to make if Van Persie decides not to extend.
Juventus are currently top of Serie A and looking to bolster their squad ahead of competition in the Champions League next term.
The Turin giants’ sporting director Fabio Paratici is said to have made contact with Van Persie’s agent, and the Italians are set to bid a staggering £25 million to try and sign the lethal marksman in the summer.
