da wazamba: Liam Kennedy has dropped an inside claim on talk at Newcastle United to do with the potential takeover by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) group.
da marjack bet: Writing in his latest piece for The Shields Gazette, the football journalist has claimed that uncertainty over the future ownership of the St. James’ Park faithful has ‘muddied waters’ at the North East club, while plans have been made for a ‘frugal’ future in the short-term in the event that the deal between Mike Ashley and the KSA consortium is not given the green light by the Premier League following the pending arbitration case.
Newcastle takeover talk distracting
The talk of a potential takeover of the Tyneside club has clearly distracted given the perilous situation that they currently find themselves in at the moment.
The Magpies are in serious danger of being relegated from the top flight down to the EFL Championship, and if they were to find themselves going down, then it could well jeopardise their chances of a takeover going through.
The KSA’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) would likely find the prospect of taking over far less attractive, while Ashley would not be able to demand the kind of sum that he would want to sell.
Nonetheless, it seems as if takeover talk is still at large at the Toon amid the proposed arbitration hearing.
