Newcastle takeover talk distracting
The talk of a potential takeover of the Tyneside club has clearly distracted given the perilous situation that they currently find themselves in at the moment.
The Magpies are in serious danger of being relegated from the top flight down to the EFL Championship, and if they were to find themselves going down, then it could well jeopardise their chances of a takeover going through.
The KSA’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) would likely find the prospect of taking over far less attractive, while Ashley would not be able to demand the kind of sum that he would want to sell.
Nonetheless, it seems as if takeover talk is still at large at the Toon amid the proposed arbitration hearing.
