da heads bet: It is looking set to be a season-defining few weeks at the London Stadium. After a poor start to the campaign, Slaven Bilic has steadied the ship somewhat since the turn of the year, though results over the last few weeks have not been up to par.
da 888: Without a league win since the start of February, the Hammers will be expected to earn a top-half finish by the time the end of the season comes around, and they must put in a few excellent performances over the coming weeks to achieve that goal.
Next up for Bilic’s side is Leicester City, the reigning Premier League champions. Whilst they have struggled in the Premier League so far this season, the Foxes have excelled in Europe – and they will certainly be buoyant after they qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League earlier this week.
Indeed, Craig Shakespeare’s side will pose a real threat for Slaven Bilic – so he must ensure that the side he picks is absolutely perfect.
More importantly, he must make sure that the following TWO players both start…
Sam Byram
Sam Byram has had an unfortunate season so far, with Slaven Bilic rarely opting to utilise the defender as a first choice option.
However, given the circumstances that the Croatian manager is going to have to deal with this weekend, it might be the perfect time to finally give him his chance.
Mark Noble is unavailable for the game, which means that a space for Cheikhou Kouyate could finally open up in the midfield.
It makes sense, then, for Byram to take up his place in the defence.
Andre Ayew
Andre Ayew was a big money signing at the start of the season, but injuries have really blighted his first term in London.
Limited to just 6 Premier League starts, Ayew has spent the last few weeks recovering and regaining his fitness, and the game against Leicester could well offer Bilic an opportunity to play him from the start.
The offensive threat that he brings is unparalleled, with deadly finishing and electric pace both key components of his game.
